So I have been spending a lot of time on YouTube recently, and every couple of weeks I can't wait for some of my favorite beauty "guru's" to put up a new video going over some of their favorite makeup/skincare products that they have been loving over the previous month. Now even though I find these videos very helpful and entertaining, I do find them a dime a dozen.
These past couple of weeks I couldn't help but notice a new video topic floating around called the "Colors of the Rainbow TAG."
This TAG is a new and refreshing way for beauty guru's to talk about their current favorite products while adding a fun twist by matching each product with a corresponding color from the rainbow.
Since I haven't worked up the courage to make a video yet myself, I decided this would be a great opportunity to make my very first blog post and share with you some of my favorite products. Hope you enjoy! :)
Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted Eau de Parfum
This has got to be one of my all time favorite scents! If you love the combination of wild berries and sweet floral, this one's for you. When compared to the original Wonderstruck perfume, some might say the Enchanted is more of a nighttime fragrance because of it's sensual hints, but I wear it during the day just fine as well!
St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Moisturizing Body Wash and Body Lotion
Say goodbye to itchy, dry skin! With the temperatures rising coming into these summer months, I've found that my skin has been very dry lately. During one of my recent travels I purchased the miniature sized body wash just out on a limb in need of one that fit into my carry on bag. As soon as I got home I ran out and bought the full sized body wash, along with the matching body lotion and I cannot express how much I love these products! The lotion is fast absorbing, non greasy, and after just one use it left my skin looking and feeling smoother. Other perks? Smells great and 100% natural! A must have!
Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer- Shade Yellow
This Yellow Corrector is perfect for hiding stubborn purple shadows under the eyes. As one who struggles with sinus issues and irregular sleeping patterns, I tend to get noticeably dark circles under the eyes. After trying many different correctors (both high end products and drugstore) this is the only one that I feel not only corrects the discoloration, but brightens the eyes as well. Affordable, effective, and mostly overlooked. Don't count this one out!
Mask of Magnaminty by LUSH
I've recently discovered LUSH after they opened a new location at a shopping mall nearby. After briefly going over my skin needs with a LUSH employee, I was offered a free facial and after testing out this face mask I had to have it! The fresh peppermint in this mask reaches deep down into the pores and leaves a delightful tingly-clean sensation. Intense, but not harsh, Mask of Magnaminty is perfect for those who love a deep, refreshing clean. (And like all LUSH products, 100% natural!)
Maybelline's The Rocket Volume Express Mascara
As someone who wears minimal makeup, I find that stroking on a few coats of mascara packs the biggest punch when enhancing my features. Usually I stick to what I know works best for me, but recently I have been hearing so much hype about this new mascara. Seeing that The Rocket had a large plastic applicator, very similar to the Lash Blast mascara by Covergirl (one of my all-time favorites) I decided to give it a go. Needless to say, Lash Blast has now been given a run for their money! The Rocket adds length while separating each lash out beautifully. The lightweight formula is so comfortable to wear for long periods of time, it doesn't dry out or flake off and sometimes I forget that I’m wearing anything! Big thumbs up Maybelline!
Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer w/ Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Protecting your skin from the sun is SO important, and while most people my age tend to run from any form of SPF (especially those of us with oily/acne prone skin) this moisturizer has now given us the best solution. In the morning, after washing with the matching Derma Control foam wash, (which I also highly recommend) I smooth this moisturizer all over my face and it instantly soaks in with no sign of a greasy residue. My skin stays matte and moisturized all day and I can leave the house with a smile on my face knowing that I am protected from the sun as well!
Even though the color pink isn’t necessarily in the rainbow, I just had to include it because who doesn’t love pink?!
Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé Kiss & Nivea’s A Kiss of Berry Swirl Lip Balm SPF 10
Since I love each of these lip products equally, I decided to include them both! Everybody loves a good moisturizing lip product, and after trying one of these Nivea products you won’t want to try anything else! Having gone through multiple tins and sticks myself, I can’t help to be hooked! The creamy texture of these products as well as the sweet smell of fresh berries leaves your lips just wanting more. I love to apply the lip butter at night/around the house and the Berry Swirl when I go out because it leaves just the slightest pink tint on your lips perfect for any natural makeup look. Both are also available in different flavors but these have got to be my favorite!
I hope you enjoyed this post and found something new to try! Comment below some of your favorite products at the moment and any recommendations that you might have for me! :)
au revoir, kxoxo
